The Opportunity:
As a Transport Administrator, you will support the Transport Manager in managing the daily operations of the transport department. This role is essential in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of pupils, maintaining compliance with transport regulations, and keeping school vehicles in optimal condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate pupil transport requirements in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Liaise with transport companies to ensure timely booking and scheduling of services.
- Maintain accurate records of third-party driver compliance and safety documentation.
- Assist in the maintenance and management of school vehicles, including scheduling for servicing and repairs.
- Conduct routine vehicle checks and ensure all safety standards are met.
- Support the Transport Manager in the day-to-day running of the transport department.
- Ensure all transport activities comply with relevant safety and legal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with staff, pupils, and external providers to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Basic understanding of transport compliance and safety regulations.
- Experience in a similar administrative or support role.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required.
Preferred
- Knowledge of transport management systems or software.
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Experience with compliance record-keeping and reporting.
