The Opportunity:

The University Admissions Counselor supports students with international university applications, focusing on the United States and Canada. This role is vital in guiding students through a complex and competitive admissions process, ensuring they are well-prepared for higher education opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise a caseload of students on application strategy and provide feedback on personal and supplementary essays.
  • Support students with interview preparation and monitor the submission of applications through relevant platforms.
  • Deliver individual and group sessions, as well as participate in workshops, assemblies, and parent events.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports relating to university placements.
  • Keep up to date with international admissions trends through professional development and networking.
  • Assist with administrative support, outreach activities, and co-curricular provision within the Higher Education and Careers Department.
  • Collaborate with students and families across multiple schools, including one day per week at each of the Foundation Schools.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in university admissions counseling or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience with international university applications, particularly to the United States and Canada.
  • Familiarity with application platforms and systems.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
  • Experience in providing guidance on personal statements and interview preparation.
