The Opportunity:

As a Teacher of Music, you will inspire and challenge students to reach their full potential through a wide range of musical experiences. You will deliver engaging lessons and support students in co-curricular music activities, including orchestras, ensembles, and performances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging Music lessons across GCSE and A Level curricula.
  • Inspire students through a diverse and aspirational programme of music opportunities.
  • Lead and support music ensembles, orchestras, and choral activities.
  • Participate in pastoral responsibilities, including form tutoring or co-tutoring.
  • Contribute to the school’s co-curricular and outreach programmes.
  • Support students in music tours, chapel services, and drama productions.
  • Maintain and develop the school’s strong music standards and facilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s music provision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Music at GCSE and A Level.
  • Strong musical ability and experience in performing and teaching a variety of musical genres.
  • Experience in leading choral or ensemble work, with particular emphasis on piano and/or organ skills.
  • Commitment to pastoral care and a willingness to take on form tutor responsibilities.
  • Passion for inspiring students and fostering a love of music.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching and performing on piano and/or organ.
  • Leadership experience in music department initiatives or extracurricular music activities.
  • Experience in working with students in drama or musical theatre productions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in a school with a strong arts focus.
