The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Design and Technology Teacher to join a dynamic department and inspire students aged 11–18. The role involves teaching Resistant Materials at both GCSE and A Level, with a focus on intelligent design and the use of CAD. This is a chance to make a real impact on student learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Design and Technology to a full range of students across the 11–18 age group.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that promote creativity, innovation, and practical skills.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that includes intelligent design and CAD-based learning.
- Support students through pastoral responsibilities, including form tutoring or co-tutoring.
- Engage in co-curricular activities and outreach programmes that enhance the school experience.
- Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve teaching and learning practices.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to the school’s culture and ethos through active involvement in its community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Design and Technology.
- Strong subject knowledge in Resistant Materials and the ability to teach GCSE and A Level (AQA).
- Experience in using CAD or willingness to develop proficiency in this area.
- Commitment to pastoral care and student support through form tutoring or co-tutoring.
- Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a supportive, high-achieving school environment.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and delivering innovative design and technology curricula.
- Background in intelligent design or related fields.
- Experience with co-curricular or outreach activities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
