The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Upper School Physics Teacher to join our dedicated team starting in August 2026. This role offers the chance to shape young minds in a dynamic, supportive environment that values innovation, leadership, and academic rigor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Physics to Upper School students, following the National Curriculum of England and relevant examination boards.
  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that promote critical thinking and a deep understanding of scientific principles.
  • Support students in developing a passion for science and a commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to the school's leadership and community development programs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance teaching and learning practices.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support academic and personal growth.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that promotes student well-being.
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of the school's academic programs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Appropriate degree with UK PGCE or other teaching qualification giving QTS.
  • Minimum three years’ teaching experience, preferably in a UK state or independent school setting.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum of England (plus IGCSE/GCSE and/or A Levels as appropriate).
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
  • A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children.
  • Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
  • Respect for all members of the school community, irrespective of position, gender, age, and ethnic background.
  • Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
  • A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life.
  • Acceptable police checks (or equivalent) from the country of origin and from all other countries in which the applicant has worked.
  • Appropriate references from current and previous employers, corroborated by personal phone calls made to each referee.

Preferred

  • The ability to teach another science up to IGCSE.
