The Opportunity:

The Vice Principal (Academic) will provide strategic leadership across curriculum, teaching, learning, and academic outcomes. This role is ideal for an ambitious leader with a strong background in education and a passion for driving academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead on curriculum intent and implementation across all key stages
• Champion excellent teaching, pedagogy, and professional development
• Oversee assessment integrity, examinations, literacy development, and academic standards
• Line-manage key senior and middle leaders, including Heads of Department
• Drive academic improvement through data analysis, action planning, and quality assurance
• Contribute to the wider strategic direction and day-to-day leadership of the academy
• Deputise for the Principal when required
• Support the development and implementation of a knowledge-based curriculum

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven track record in educational leadership
• Strong curriculum expertise and knowledge of pedagogy
• Experience in driving academic improvement and achieving high standards
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to manage and develop senior and middle leaders

Preferred

• Experience in a high-performing school or academy
• Experience with curriculum development and implementation
• Experience in leading professional development initiatives
• Experience with assessment and data analysis
• Experience in a school with a diverse student community
