Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach engaging lessons across all primary subjects, including preparation for 11+ assessments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans and daily lessons.
  • Mark and assess student work, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages learning and personal development.
  • Ensure good behaviour and discipline while promoting the school’s values and safeguarding standards.
  • Support student wellbeing and maintain regular communication with parents.
  • Participate in school events, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
  • Manage classroom resources and maintain an orderly and stimulating learning space.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and appraisal activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong academic background (PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire and engage pupils.
  • Confident in planning, assessment, and adapting work to meet individual needs.
  • Good classroom management skills and ability to maintain a respectful environment.
  • Experience in supporting pupil wellbeing and understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school with a strong focus on personal development.
  • Experience in teaching within a preparatory school setting.
  • Familiarity with 11+ preparation and assessment practices.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and career progression.
