The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support the educational, physical, and social development of pupils aged 3–11. You will work closely with teaching staff and the Wrap Manager to deliver engaging lessons, sports activities, and after-school care. This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover role with a varied and impactful schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support teaching staff in delivering engaging and effective lessons
• Assist with the development of pupils’ independence and wellbeing
• Deliver sports activities and physical education sessions
• Provide a safe and stimulating environment for children in the After School Club
• Supervise and manage pupils during school and wraparound care hours
• Encourage a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Support the implementation of the school’s curriculum and learning objectives
• Communicate regularly with teaching staff and parents to ensure pupil progress

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience working with children aged 3–11
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Understanding of behaviour management and safeguarding principles
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

• Sports coaching experience
• Childcare or early years qualifications
• Experience with teaching and learning support
• Knowledge of curriculum delivery and child development
