The Opportunity:
As a Head of Key Stage 4 English Teacher, you will play a key role in driving academic success and ensuring the highest standards of learning for students. You will lead and support students in their transition to Key Stage 4, ensuring they are well-prepared for future challenges and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure high standards of academic and personal development for all students in your year group.
- Implement targeted support and interventions to address the needs of individual students and groups.
- Monitor and improve the progress and attainment of students, overcoming barriers to learning.
- Promote and maintain high standards of behaviour, learning, and appearance among students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver effective teaching strategies.
- Lead and manage a team of teachers, providing guidance and support where needed.
- Work closely with pastoral teams to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Contribute to the overall improvement of teaching and learning across the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Key Stage 4 English.
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team of teachers.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Experience in developing and implementing targeted support strategies.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred
- Experience in pastoral leadership or student support roles.
- Knowledge of evidence-informed teaching methods.
- Experience with safeguarding and student welfare.
- Familiarity with the use of instructional coaching and deliberate practice.
