The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified A Level Economics Teacher to join our sixth form team. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching and inspire students to excel in Economics. The successful candidate will contribute to a school that values academic achievement and student development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging A Level Economics lessons aligned with the Edexcel specification.
- Create and maintain high-quality teaching resources and schemes of work.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support learning.
- Support students in developing analytical and evaluative skills.
- Contribute to the development and review of the Economics curriculum.
- Participate in departmental planning and moderation activities.
- Provide academic guidance and support to sixth form students.
- Attend training, meetings, and professional development sessions.
- Contribute to enrichment activities such as economics societies and trips.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good honours degree in Economics or a related discipline.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching A Level Economics.
- Evidence of successful teaching with strong student outcomes.
Preferred
- Experience teaching in a high-achieving sixth form environment.
- Experience supporting students applying to competitive universities.
- Ability to integrate current economic issues into teaching.
- Interest in leading enrichment activities related to Economics.
