The base salary for this role will be on the KAS scale and the positioning will depend on experience. (The KAS scale is the same as the Outer London pay scale, plus an additional allowance).

The Opportunity:

A Part Time PE Teacher is needed to join a dynamic and inclusive sports department. The role involves delivering high-quality PE lessons and leading extra-curricular activities that promote lifelong engagement with sport. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons to students from Reception to Year 13.
  • Organize and lead sporting events, including fixtures and competitions.
  • Support the development of a thriving extra-curricular sports programme.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the school’s PE provision.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Promote the physical, social, and emotional development of pupils through sport.
  • Plan and deliver activities that encourage participation and enjoyment in physical activity.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students during sports activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree and QTS.
  • Relevant teaching experience, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to holistic and forward-thinking education.
  • Experience in organizing and managing sporting events.
  • A valid driving licence for travel to fixtures and events.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching across a wide age range.
  • Background in extra-curricular sports leadership.
  • Experience with inclusive and mixed-ability teaching.
  • Knowledge of child-centred approaches to education.
  • Experience in pastoral care or student support.
