The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality A Level English lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that raise academic achievement and student confidence.
- Support students in achieving outstanding results and progressing to higher education.
- Contribute to the wider college community through collaboration with colleagues and participation in extra-curricular activities.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Stay up to date with curriculum developments and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching practice.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of enrichment activities, including college productions and events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS or currently undertaking initial teacher training.
- Proven experience in teaching A Level English to students aged 16-19.
- Demonstrable record of achieving excellent student outcomes and raising aspirations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
- Commitment to working collaboratively within a team and contributing to the school’s mission.
Preferred
- Experience teaching Media or French in addition to A Level English.
- Background in pastoral care or student support.
- Experience in curriculum development or leadership roles within a school or college setting.
- Familiarity with the New Collaborative Learning Trust or similar multi-academy trusts.
