The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to support the financial operations of a dynamic and growing institution. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, contributing to the smooth functioning of the school's administrative systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage accounts payable tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and maintain accurate records.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Maintain up-to-date financial records and reports.
  • Support the accounts team with administrative and clerical duties.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to other departments as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience in accounts payable or similar financial role.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in the education sector or non-profit environment.
  • Familiarity with financial systems such as QuickBooks or Sage.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
