Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Design Technology department.
• Lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive, innovative, and engaging curriculum.
• Manage and support departmental colleagues in delivering excellent teaching and learning.
• Deliver high-quality classroom teaching across the school, fostering student creativity and passion for design.
• Ensure a safe and well-managed workshop environment.
• Promote and develop the use of photography at A Level.
• Monitor and support student progress and attainment across all key stages.
• Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience in teaching Design Technology at secondary level.
• Strong subject knowledge and specification expertise.
• Experience in managing a department or team, ideally as a Head of Department.
• Demonstrable track record of successful academic outcomes at GCSE and A Level.
• Ability to manage and maintain a safe workshop environment.

Preferred

• Experience teaching Photography at A Level.
• Leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
• Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
