The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Admin Support Assistant to join our dedicated School Office team. This role is integral to ensuring smooth administrative operations, including cover management, admissions, and general office support. The successful candidate will play a key part in maintaining the school's high standards and supporting students, staff, and parents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate staff cover, including taking absence calls and arranging appropriate cover
- Liaise with Human Resources on all staff absence matters
- Coordinate room changes and ensure communication is clear and timely
- Provide induction and support for supply staff
- Maintain student records and process mid-term transfers
- Update student information on BROMCOM and manage student file documentation
- Assist with sixth form applications and ensure medical evidence is captured for new students
- Support administration of free school meals and pupil premium
- Provide administrative support to the School Office, including covering reception and assisting with phone and gate access
- Ensure compliance with policies on safeguarding, data protection, and health and safety
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum GCSE grade C/4 (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
- Experience in a busy office environment
- Proficiency in word processing, Excel, email, and other office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- Willingness to attend training and professional development
Preferred
- Previous experience in a school or similar setting
