The Opportunity:

As a School Shop Assistant, you will support the day-to-day operations of the School Shop, ensuring a welcoming and efficient service for parents, students, and visitors. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys customer service and takes pride in maintaining high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the efficient operation of the School Shop on Mondays and Tuesdays.
  • Assist with uniform fittings and provide excellent customer service to parents, students, and visitors.
  • Ensure the shop is well-presented, welcoming, and maintained to a high standard.
  • Manage stock accurately, including receiving, storing, and displaying items.
  • Contribute to the professional operation of all shop activities, including sales and administrative tasks.
  • Assist with full-time duties during the school holiday period (July to September).
  • Maintain a friendly, organised, and customer-focused approach in all interactions.
  • Collaborate with the School Shop Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in a retail or customer service role is desirable.
  • Ability to manage stock accurately and maintain shop standards.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of uniform fitting and retail operations.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, busy environment.
  • Flexibility to work full-time during the school holiday period.
