Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain a vibrant and inclusive school library that supports the curriculum and promotes lifelong learning.
  • Develop and implement engaging library programs and activities for students and staff.
  • Support teaching and learning by providing resources, guidance, and information services.
  • Promote reading for pleasure and literacy development across all age groups.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into lesson planning and student learning.
  • Ensure the library is a welcoming and safe space that encourages exploration and curiosity.
  • Oversee the cataloguing, organisation, and maintenance of library collections and digital resources.
  • Monitor and evaluate the use of library services to continuously improve impact and engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified librarian or equivalent experience in library and information management.
  • Proven experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering library-based learning initiatives.
  • Knowledge of digital resources and library management systems.
  • Experience with curriculum support and collaboration with teaching staff.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
