The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Biology Teacher to inspire and educate girls across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5. This role offers the chance to create engaging, creative lessons and contribute to a dynamic, supportive department. The successful candidate will be a key part of a school committed to academic excellence and student development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Biology lessons to Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 students, with an emphasis on creativity and collaboration.
  • Design and implement challenging and thought-provoking curricula that align with the school’s academic standards.
  • Support students in achieving excellent examination results, including GCSE and A Level Biology.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Science department to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Participate in the school’s professional development programs and training opportunities.
  • Provide tailored support and mentorship to ECTs, where applicable.
  • Maintain a high standard of classroom management and student engagement.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Biology or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and 4, and A Level Biology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student-centered learning and academic excellence.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to departmental initiatives.

Preferred

  • Experience with combined science curricula.
  • Experience working with ECTs or mentoring new teachers.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Familiarity with the GDST and its teaching and learning principles.
