You will help students develop the skills and knowledge needed for careers in animal care or further study. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in animal care to Level 3 students.
  • Plan and resource teaching materials that support student learning and progression.
  • Support and monitor student progress, setting and reviewing academic targets.
  • Provide pastoral care and guidance to students to ensure their well-being and success.
  • Organise and lead course-related trips, visits, and open days.
  • Manage student work experience placements, ensuring compliance with college and awarding body standards.
  • Contribute to internal quality assurance and course administration processes.
  • Participate in student recruitment activities and information evenings.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A teaching qualification and a degree in Animal Care.
  • Proven experience in animal husbandry, including animal handling, feeding, and behaviour.
  • Experience in teaching the City & Guilds Technical Certificate in Animal Management at Level 3.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Up-to-date industry CPD and relevant experience.
  • Experience with student recruitment and pastoral support.
  • Flexibility and commitment to student achievement and quality.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of £29,374 to £44,218 per annum pro rata.
