The Opportunity:

A Humanities Teacher is needed to deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to lead in Religious Studies. This role offers the chance to inspire students, collaborate with a dedicated department, and contribute to a vibrant extra-curricular programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Religious Studies, History, and Geography at KS3 and KS4
  • Foster curiosity, debate, and empathy through real-world connections in teaching
  • Contribute to shared planning and resource development within the Humanities department
  • Support the delivery of the faculty’s extra-curricular programme, including clubs and trips
  • Encourage student engagement and help achieve strong academic outcomes
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning practices
  • Provide pastoral support and contribute to the overall wellbeing of students
  • Take on leadership responsibilities, including the potential to lead in Religious Studies

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Humanities specialism
  • Experience or enthusiasm for teaching Religious Studies, History, or Geography at A level
  • Commitment to inclusive, high-quality teaching that leads to strong student outcomes
  • Ability to inspire and engage students in learning

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or subject area
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with extra-curricular programme development
