Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality History lessons that engage and challenge students at GCSE level.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance student achievement and learning outcomes.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the development of the school’s curriculum.
- Support students in developing critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deep appreciation for History.
- Participate in whole-school initiatives and leadership programmes that promote character development and social action.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Engage with parents and the wider community to promote the value of History education.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience of delivering high-quality teaching at GCSE standard.
- Demonstrable ability to raise pupil outcomes and drive academic achievement.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience of working in a school with a leadership specialism.
- Experience of developing and leading curriculum innovation.
- Experience of working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience of mentoring or supporting other teachers.
