Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative Art & Design lessons at Key Stage 3 and 4, supporting student achievement at GCSE.
  • Inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential in Art & Design.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the department’s curriculum and teaching practices.
  • Support and contribute to the school’s extensive extra-curricular enrichment programme.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and learning, ensuring a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Provide regular and constructive feedback to students to support their progress and development.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Art & Design education and incorporate new ideas into teaching practice.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to further improve the department’s performance and impact.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching Art & Design at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A passion for Art & Design and a commitment to student success.
  • Ability to inspire and challenge students to achieve their best.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental development.
  • Familiarity with the use of digital tools in Art & Design education.
  • Experience with extra-curricular activities and enrichment programmes.
  • Strong leadership and team-working skills.
  • Experience in working with diverse student groups.
