Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and innovative Art & Design lessons at Key Stage 3 and 4, supporting student achievement at GCSE.
- Inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential in Art & Design.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the department’s curriculum and teaching practices.
- Support and contribute to the school’s extensive extra-curricular enrichment programme.
- Maintain high standards of teaching and learning, ensuring a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Provide regular and constructive feedback to students to support their progress and development.
- Stay up to date with developments in Art & Design education and incorporate new ideas into teaching practice.
- Work closely with the senior leadership team to further improve the department’s performance and impact.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and teaching qualification.
- Proven experience in teaching Art & Design at Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A passion for Art & Design and a commitment to student success.
- Ability to inspire and challenge students to achieve their best.
Preferred
- Experience in leading or contributing to departmental development.
- Familiarity with the use of digital tools in Art & Design education.
- Experience with extra-curricular activities and enrichment programmes.
- Strong leadership and team-working skills.
- Experience in working with diverse student groups.
