The Opportunity:

As an Art Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the creative and academic development of students. You will deliver high-quality, evidence-informed teaching that aligns with the British curriculum, and contribute to a dynamic and supportive teaching team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative art lessons that inspire creativity and critical thinking.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Support students in developing their artistic skills and preparing for GCSE and A-Level assessments.
  • Contribute to the school's extra-curricular programme by leading art-related activities and events.
  • Stay up to date with current trends and developments in art education and integrate these into teaching practice.
  • Work closely with the Wellbeing Team to support student mental health and personal development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent in Secondary teaching or similar.
  • Experience teaching the British curriculum to GCSE and A Level (KS3/4/5).
  • Exceptional subject knowledge in art and design.
  • Experience working within a high-performing teaching team.
  • A proven track record of outstanding teaching and learning.
  • At least 2 years of experience teaching the National Curriculum of England.

Preferred

  • Experience with evidence-informed teaching practices.
  • Involvement in professional learning networks such as SSAT, BPN or EBE.
  • Experience in coaching or mentoring other teachers.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with technology-enhanced learning environments.
