The Opportunity:
As an Art Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the creative and academic development of students. You will deliver high-quality, evidence-informed teaching that aligns with the British curriculum, and contribute to a dynamic and supportive teaching team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and innovative art lessons that inspire creativity and critical thinking.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
- Support students in developing their artistic skills and preparing for GCSE and A-Level assessments.
- Contribute to the school's extra-curricular programme by leading art-related activities and events.
- Stay up to date with current trends and developments in art education and integrate these into teaching practice.
- Work closely with the Wellbeing Team to support student mental health and personal development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent in Secondary teaching or similar.
- Experience teaching the British curriculum to GCSE and A Level (KS3/4/5).
- Exceptional subject knowledge in art and design.
- Experience working within a high-performing teaching team.
- A proven track record of outstanding teaching and learning.
- At least 2 years of experience teaching the National Curriculum of England.
Preferred
- Experience with evidence-informed teaching practices.
- Involvement in professional learning networks such as SSAT, BPN or EBE.
- Experience in coaching or mentoring other teachers.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with technology-enhanced learning environments.
