The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging Art & Design lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, including GCSE endorsements.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and student confidence.
  • Collaborate with the Design & Technology department to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art facilities, including digital tools, kilns, and 3D printers, to deliver a curriculum aligned with industry standards.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results in GCSE Art and Design qualifications.
  • Participate in the school’s ongoing improvement journey through evidence-informed practice and professional development.
  • Contribute to the school’s mission of reducing the impact of disadvantage and preparing students for future success.
  • Engage in collaborative planning and departmental development to ensure continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and appropriate teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
  • Experience in teaching Art & Design at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong knowledge of the Art & Design curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Commitment to evidence-informed teaching practices and student progress.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with GCSE Art & Design qualifications and endorsements.
  • Familiarity with digital art tools and software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience working in a school with a strong focus on community engagement and social investment.
  • Background in collaborative teaching and departmental leadership.
  • Passion for fostering student creativity and self-expression.
