The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and inspiring Vocational Design & Technology Teacher for a part-time maternity cover role starting in September 2026. This is a fixed-term position, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' learning and development at key stages 3 and 4.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality vocational design and technology lessons to GCSE level.
- Support students in developing practical and theoretical skills in design and technology.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners in a culturally rich environment.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of enrichment activities and extracurricular programs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and innovative curriculum.
- Manage classroom effectively and maintain high standards of behavior and learning.
- Use ICT to enhance student engagement and support learning outcomes.
- Work independently and as part of a team to manage workload and priorities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in vocational design and technology.
- Proven ability to teach key stages 3 and 4, including GCSE-level content.
- Strong subject knowledge and commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
- Experience in classroom management and differentiation for diverse learners.
- Confidence in using ICT to support teaching and learning.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience teaching KS4 Hospitality and Catering.
- Background in delivering enrichment activities and extracurricular programs.
- Experience working with students from culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Previous involvement in careers education and enterprise opportunities.
