The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and inspiring Vocational Design & Technology Teacher for a part-time maternity cover role starting in September 2026. This is a fixed-term position, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' learning and development at key stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality vocational design and technology lessons to GCSE level.
  • Support students in developing practical and theoretical skills in design and technology.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners in a culturally rich environment.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of enrichment activities and extracurricular programs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and innovative curriculum.
  • Manage classroom effectively and maintain high standards of behavior and learning.
  • Use ICT to enhance student engagement and support learning outcomes.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to manage workload and priorities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in vocational design and technology.
  • Proven ability to teach key stages 3 and 4, including GCSE-level content.
  • Strong subject knowledge and commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Experience in classroom management and differentiation for diverse learners.
  • Confidence in using ICT to support teaching and learning.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching KS4 Hospitality and Catering.
  • Background in delivering enrichment activities and extracurricular programs.
  • Experience working with students from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Previous involvement in careers education and enterprise opportunities.
