Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging art lessons that promote creativity, critical thinking and technical skill.
  • Guide students through the full creative process, from concept development to final outcomes.
  • Teach a broad range of artistic disciplines including sculpture, painting, digital design, printmaking, and mixed media.
  • Demonstrate high-level practical techniques and inspire students with strong subject knowledge.
  • Promote observational drawing as a core skill within the curriculum, teaching it with clarity and enthusiasm.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through involvement in co-curricular and enrichment programs.
  • Support the academic and personal development of students through mentorship and encouragement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and enhance the school's strong reputation in art education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong subject knowledge in art and design.
  • Demonstrable experience in teaching art at A Level and GCSE.
  • Excellent observational drawing skills and the ability to teach these effectively.
  • Confidence in teaching a wide range of artistic disciplines.
  • Commitment to fostering creativity, independence, and intellectual curiosity in students.

Preferred

  • Experience in working with students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Experience with co-curricular and enrichment programs.
  • Recent graduate or new teacher with strong potential and a passion for art education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
