Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging History lessons across the age and ability range.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s History curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities Faculty to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Support students in achieving academic success and personal growth.
  • Participate in pastoral or academic leadership roles, if applicable.
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to the wider life of the school.
  • Monitor and assess student progress effectively.
  • Encourage a love of learning and critical thinking in students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in History or a related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching History at the secondary level.
  • Commitment to student welfare and inclusive education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching a second subject.
  • Leadership or pastoral experience within a school setting.
  • Experience with pastoral or academic roles of responsibility.
  • Familiarity with independent school environments.
