The Opportunity:

As a Class Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering an engaging and inclusive curriculum tailored to the needs of young boys aged 4 to 8. You will foster a warm and supportive learning environment, providing academic and pastoral care to help students reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and implement the agreed school curriculum to cater for the needs of all children within the assigned class.
  • Deliver well-structured, engaging learning experiences that are relevant, differentiated, and inclusive.
  • Observe and evaluate the progress of each child, ensuring they reach their maximum potential according to EYFS guidelines.
  • Create a warm, friendly, and supportive atmosphere that promotes the social and emotional development of children.
  • Provide pastoral support, being alert to signs of emotional distress and ensuring each child’s well-being.
  • Mark and comment on pupil work in line with school policy and procedures.
  • Assess and evaluate pupil progress using the school’s agreed monitoring and assessment frameworks.
  • Create an engaging and stimulating learning environment through classroom displays and organisation.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the school to support student transitions and prepare pupils for 7+ and 8+ examinations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Fully qualified teacher with relevant teaching experience.
  • Strong classroom management and teaching skills with a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Commitment to supporting all children, regardless of ability, and using varied teaching styles to enhance learning.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with parents and colleagues effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience in preparing students for 7+ and 8+ examinations.
  • Background in safeguarding and child protection.
  • Experience with extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
