The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Reception or Year 1 Teacher to join our dynamic Pre-Prep team. This role offers the chance to shape young minds in a supportive and innovative learning environment that prioritises early childhood development, creativity, and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a rich, structured, and joyful curriculum focused on early language, reading, number, and personal development.
- Create a classroom environment that is calm, nurturing, and promotes curiosity, creativity, and independence.
- Establish high expectations for pupil behaviour, progress, and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment provision.
- Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Utilise technology effectively to enhance learning in the early years.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching in EYFS and/or Key Stage 1.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and how young children learn.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and parents.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- High expectations for pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing.
Preferred
- Experience in an independent or preparatory school setting.
- Experience of teaching phonics and early reading (including systematic synthetic phonics).
- A strong understanding of early maths mastery approaches.
- Interest in using technology purposefully to support learning in the early years.
- Experience contributing to curriculum development or enrichment provision.
