The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Reception or Year 1 Teacher to join our dynamic Pre-Prep team. This role offers the chance to shape young minds in a supportive and innovative learning environment that prioritises early childhood development, creativity, and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a rich, structured, and joyful curriculum focused on early language, reading, number, and personal development.
  • Create a classroom environment that is calm, nurturing, and promotes curiosity, creativity, and independence.
  • Establish high expectations for pupil behaviour, progress, and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment provision.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Utilise technology effectively to enhance learning in the early years.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching in EYFS and/or Key Stage 1.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and how young children learn.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and parents.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • High expectations for pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing.

Preferred

  • Experience in an independent or preparatory school setting.
  • Experience of teaching phonics and early reading (including systematic synthetic phonics).
  • A strong understanding of early maths mastery approaches.
  • Interest in using technology purposefully to support learning in the early years.
  • Experience contributing to curriculum development or enrichment provision.
