The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Art Teacher to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This role offers the chance to inspire students, shape their creative development, and contribute to a high-performing educational environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering a strong and engaging curriculum that supports student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Art lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and Ofsted standards.
  • Inspire and motivate students to develop their artistic skills and appreciation for the subject.
  • Maintain a well-organised and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the development of the Art department and cross-curricular initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.
  • Stay up to date with current trends, techniques, and developments in Art education.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Support students with special educational needs and ensure all learners have access to quality teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Art education.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for teaching Art.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain high standards of behaviour.
  • Commitment to the Co-op values and ways of being.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Familiarity with the Co-op Academies Trust and its ethos.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
