The Opportunity:

As an Art Technician, you will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of high-quality art education. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about art and education, and who is committed to helping students explore their creative potential in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide practical and technical support for art lessons, ensuring materials and equipment are safe and ready for use.
  • Prepare, set up, and clear away art materials, tools, and equipment after use.
  • Maintain an organised and efficient working environment, including managing stock levels and placing orders.
  • Support pupils in the safe use of tools and materials and assist with art projects across various mediums.
  • Assist with the operation of the kiln and manage firing schedules, if trained.
  • Support the display and presentation of pupils' work for exhibitions and school events.
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives through recycling and material reuse.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Practical skills and confidence with tools and materials.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a creative educational environment.
  • Good communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in an art, design, or workshop environment.
  • Knowledge of a range of art materials and techniques.
  • Experience in a school setting.
  • Interest in supporting creative learning in young people.
