The Opportunity:

A French Teacher Assistant is needed to support students in developing their spoken French skills and appreciation of Francophone cultures. This role plays a key part in preparing students for GCSE, A Level, and DELF speaking exams, and contributes to a dynamic and collaborative MFL department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing students’ spoken French skills and cultural understanding.
  • Support the preparation of students for GCSE, A Level, and DELF speaking exams.
  • Collaborate with the MFL team to share best practices and enhance language learning.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that inspire a love of language and culture.
  • Provide individualised support to students to help them reach their full potential.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s strong MFL profile.
  • Stay up to date with current teaching methodologies and French language trends.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Native speaker or graduate in French with near-native language skills.
  • Experience or interest in teaching French at a secondary level.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to student engagement and cultural appreciation.

Preferred

  • Experience in preparing students for GCSE, A Level, or DELF exams.
  • Knowledge of Francophone cultures and traditions.
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
