The Opportunity:
As an Assistant Head Academic, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic direction of the school. You will lead innovation in teaching and learning, ensuring the effective use of digital tools and academic systems to enhance student performance and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop pedagogical strategies to support continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
- Lead the implementation of digital learning initiatives, including AI, Google Classroom, and personal learning devices.
- Ensure the efficient operation of academic systems and processes across the school.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align academic practices with the school’s strategic development plan.
- Support the development and progression of academic systems across all year groups.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of academic innovations on student achievement.
- Provide leadership and guidance to academic staff in areas of teaching and learning.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the school’s academic vision and mission.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior academic leadership role within a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of innovative teaching and learning practices.
- Demonstrated experience in managing academic systems and digital learning platforms.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in education or a related field.
Preferred
- Experience in leading curriculum development and academic strategy.
- Familiarity with AI and other emerging technologies in education.
- Experience in working within a large, high-performing independent school.
- A track record of driving academic excellence and student success.
