The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Head Early Years, you will lead the strategic and operational management of the Early Years department, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning, and pupil wellbeing. This role is ideal for an experienced leader who wants to make a meaningful impact in a nurturing and innovative educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic development and daily management of the Early Years department.
  • Oversee curriculum planning, delivery, and assessment across the Early Years phase.
  • Monitor pupil progress and ensure consistently high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Line manage and support Early Years staff, including performance management and professional development.
  • Promote a positive team culture and high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
  • Ensure safeguarding and support pupil wellbeing within Early Years.
  • Manage the Early Years budget and resources effectively.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and the wider school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in Early Years or Primary education.
  • Strong understanding of the British curriculum and inspection frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.

Preferred

  • Experience in senior leadership or management roles within an international school setting.
  • Familiarity with KHDA and BSO requirements.
  • Experience in curriculum development and school improvement initiatives.
