The Opportunity:
As an Assistant Head Post-16, you will lead and manage the Post-16 provision, ensuring high-quality outcomes and alignment with the school’s vision. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the educational experience of students and drive strategic improvements in teaching, learning, and student progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the Post-16 provision.
- Develop and implement policies and systems to support student success and outcomes.
- Monitor student progress, attendance, and destinations using data to drive improvement.
- Oversee staff development, appraisals, and performance management.
- Ensure high standards in teaching, learning, curriculum design, and Positive Behaviour Support.
- Coordinate UCAS applications and support post-18 transitions and progression.
- Act as Exams Officer, ensuring compliance with JCQ regulations.
- Manage admissions, referrals, and liaise with families and external professionals.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant qualification/experience.
- Strong background in Post-16 education, SEND, and staff management.
- Experience in curriculum design and student progression.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
- Willingness to submit an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS).
- Completion of Child Protection Training.
Preferred
- Experience with strategic leadership and policy development.
- Knowledge of alternative education provision and inclusive practices.
- Experience in managing a small team and leading staff development.
- Familiarity with Positive Behaviour Support frameworks.
- Experience with UCAS applications and post-18 transitions.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £54,860 - £58,497.
