The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Assistant Headteacher for Behaviour to provide dynamic leadership and ensure positive behaviour across the school. This role is central to fostering a respectful and supportive learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop behaviour policies and strategies across all year groups
- Work closely with staff to maintain a positive and inclusive school culture
- Support the implementation of consistent behaviour management across the school
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour initiatives
- Provide guidance and training to staff on behaviour management
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure alignment with the school’s vision and values
- Address complex behaviour issues with a focus on student development and support
- Promote a safe and respectful environment that encourages student achievement
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership or behaviour management role
- Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and best practice
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and within a team
- Commitment to the school’s values of inclusivity, care, and excellence
- Relevant teaching or leadership qualification
Preferred
- Experience in a large secondary school or multi-academy trust setting
- Experience in leading behaviour improvement initiatives
- Experience with pastoral care and student welfare
- Experience in managing and supporting staff development in behaviour management
