Trust Vice Principal - Attendance Lead to drive attendance improvement across a growing multi-academy trust.

The Opportunity:
As Trust Vice Principal - Attendance Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping attendance strategies across multiple secondary academies. This is a unique opportunity to influence attendance outcomes at scale, ensuring that more students are in school, learning, and achieving their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and drive a clear, trust-wide attendance strategy aligned with school improvement goals
- Translate strategy into consistent, front-line practice across academies
- Support and challenge academy leaders to deliver sustained improvement in attendance
- Ensure strong alignment between attendance, safeguarding, inclusion, and pastoral systems
- Focus on reducing persistent absence among disadvantaged and vulnerable students
- Use data to identify trends, target interventions, and evaluate the impact of attendance initiatives
- Build leadership and staff capacity through coaching, modelling, and high-quality CPD
- Prepare for external scrutiny, including Ofsted inspections
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven track record in school leadership with a focus on attendance improvement
- Experience in driving whole-school improvement and strategic development
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and its link to attendance systems
- Demonstrated ability to use data effectively to drive improvement
- Commitment to supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable pupils
Preferred
- Experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Experience working at trust or system level
- Background in inclusion or other significant whole-school priorities
