The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Headteacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the school’s co-curricular and whole-child development strategy. You will lead the implementation of key programmes and work closely with departmental leaders to ensure a world-class student experience that extends beyond the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic development and continuous enhancement of co-curricular, enrichment, and futures education programmes.
  • Provide visionary leadership for flagship initiatives such as QE Flourish, QE Futures, and QE Connect.
  • Manage and mentor key departmental leaders including the Director of Sport, Director of Creative Arts, Director of Music, and Head of Careers and Futures.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of high-impact events and initiatives that showcase student talent and achievement.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding regulations, internal policies, and international accreditation standards.
  • Monitor student engagement data and drive initiatives that promote inclusivity and equity in co-curricular opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, external partners, and cultural institutions to enhance community engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in education or a relevant subject; PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in a reputable Cambridge curriculum or international school.
  • Proven leadership experience in a middle or senior leadership role.
  • Strong track record of improving standards and delivering outstanding student outcomes in areas such as Sports, Arts, Music, or Careers.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading large-scale co-curricular or enrichment programmes.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement strategic initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
