Assistant Headteacher needed at a special needs school in Lancashire. Lead curriculum and support school leadership.

The Opportunity:
As an Assistant Headteacher, you will play a key role in the strategic and operational leadership of the school. You will support the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher in delivering a rich curriculum and exceptional learning experiences. This is a chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead curriculum development, assessment, and enrichment across relevant phases.
- Monitor teaching and learning and drive continuous improvement.
- Support staff through CPD, coaching, and mentoring to develop excellent practice.
- Contribute to school improvement planning, self-evaluation, and governance reporting.
- Line manage teachers and teaching assistants effectively.
- Ensure a safe, engaging, and well-resourced learning environment.
- Promote strong relationships with pupils, families, external partners, and the wider community.
- Manage complex scenarios and resolve conflicts effectively.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning Support (QTLS).
- Proven track record of excellent creative and structured teaching within relevant key stages and/or special needs environment.
- Experience of leading a significant area or phase, including responsibility for raising standards across the whole school.
- Effective team management and ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Strong communication skills with a wide range of audiences.
- Experience in managing complex scenarios and conflict resolution.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and leadership.
- Experience working with external agencies and partners.
- Experience in school improvement planning and governance reporting.
