The Opportunity:

As a Design Technology Technician, you will support the Design and Technology department by managing practical resources and facilities. You will ensure that the curriculum's practical requirements are met, while working in a school that values excellence and innovation in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the use of practical resources and facilities in the Design and Technology department.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff and pupils in meeting the practical requirements of the DT curriculum.
  • Ensure compliance with CLEAPSS and COSHH regulations.
  • Operate and maintain a range of machines and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of practical lessons and projects.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop environment.
  • Support the Head of Design Technology in planning and implementing departmental initiatives.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to enhance the learning experience for students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working in a Design and Technology department within an educational setting.
  • Confidence in operating a variety of machines and equipment.
  • Knowledge of CLEAPSS and COSHH regulations.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a Design Technology Technician or in a similar role.
  • Experience with curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with health and safety in a school environment.
