As an Assistant Headteacher, you will play a key role in leading a curriculum area and supporting staff management, while continuing to teach. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on student outcomes and school improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the development of a curriculum area with a focus on raising achievement.
- Manage and mentor teaching and support staff to ensure high standards of practice.
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to implement school strategies and initiatives.
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning that aligns with the school’s mission and values.
- Support the overall management and development of the school’s academic and pastoral services.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that reflects Catholic and British values.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning across the school.
- Collaborate with colleagues to drive continuous improvement and innovation in education.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in a senior leadership role or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge and experience in raising achievement across all ability ranges.
- Demonstrable ability to meet Teachers’ Standards.
- Experience in managing and leading staff and teams.
- Commitment to Catholic values and the school’s mission statement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
- Experience with safeguarding and pastoral care.
- Leadership experience in curriculum development and staff training.
- Experience in school improvement and strategic planning.
- Experience in continuous professional development and research in education.
