The Opportunity:

As a Nursery Nurse, you will be responsible for the care and development of children aged 6 months to 4 years, creating a nurturing environment that supports their growth and learning. This role is ideal for someone passionate about early years education and committed to the wellbeing of young children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support children in the Early Years setting, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
  • Assist with toilet training, personal care, meal times, and daily routines.
  • Support the Room Leader in planning, delivering, and assessing engaging EYFS activities.
  • Observe children's development and update Tapestry regularly with detailed observations and learning updates.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress and wellbeing.
  • Maintain a clean, organised Nursery environment and ensure resources are stored neatly.
  • Support children during Holiday Club sessions and trips, ensuring their safety and engagement.
  • Uphold high standards of safeguarding, hygiene, and health and safety protocols.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children aged 2–6 years.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and a caring, enthusiastic approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Familiarity with observation and assessment tools such as Tapestry.
  • Previous experience in a Nursery or Early Years setting.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
