The Opportunity:
As a Nursery Nurse, you will be responsible for the care and development of children aged 6 months to 4 years, creating a nurturing environment that supports their growth and learning. This role is ideal for someone passionate about early years education and committed to the wellbeing of young children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support children in the Early Years setting, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Assist with toilet training, personal care, meal times, and daily routines.
- Support the Room Leader in planning, delivering, and assessing engaging EYFS activities.
- Observe children's development and update Tapestry regularly with detailed observations and learning updates.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress and wellbeing.
- Maintain a clean, organised Nursery environment and ensure resources are stored neatly.
- Support children during Holiday Club sessions and trips, ensuring their safety and engagement.
- Uphold high standards of safeguarding, hygiene, and health and safety protocols.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education or equivalent.
- Experience working with children aged 2–6 years.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a caring, enthusiastic approach.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
- Familiarity with observation and assessment tools such as Tapestry.
- Previous experience in a Nursery or Early Years setting.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
