The Opportunity:
A Geography Teacher is needed to deliver high-quality teaching and learning, helping students reach their full potential. This role plays a key part in shaping the curriculum and supporting student achievement across a broad range of abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding teaching and learning in Geography, in line with national standards.
- Ensure accountability for student achievement through data analysis and intervention strategies.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum.
- Support the academic and pastoral progress of students as a Form Tutor.
- Maintain accurate records and assessments, and participate in departmental and whole-school meetings.
- Uphold the school’s ethos by supporting religious and community activities, including assemblies and prayers.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Geography education.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that reflect best practice in pedagogy and assessment.
- Strong understanding of national curriculum requirements and assessment frameworks.
- Commitment to student wellbeing and pastoral care.
- Experience in working within a school community and supporting the school’s values and vision.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching across a range of abilities and age groups (11–16, with potential to contribute to post-16 provision).
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular activities.
- Familiarity with safeguarding practices and health and safety standards.
