The Opportunity:

As Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, you will play a central role in embedding an inclusive culture across the school. This is a leadership position that demands a passionate, relationship-focused approach to education and a commitment to raising standards for all students. You will work closely with a supportive senior leadership team to drive meaningful change and ensure every child achieves and thrives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and embed a whole-school commitment to inclusion, high aspiration, and early help for all students.
  • Champion reforms that improve outcomes for students with SEND and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support the vision of “Every Child Achieving and Thriving.”
  • Build the confidence and capability of staff to ensure all learners experience belonging, challenge, and success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to support staff in meeting the needs of diverse learners.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of inclusion initiatives and report progress to senior leadership.
  • Work with external agencies and parents to ensure a holistic approach to student support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Senco qualification
  • Good honours degree
  • Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development
  • Level 7 Access Arrangements Assessor qualification or relevant experience

Preferred

  • Experience in leading inclusion strategies within a school setting
  • Experience in preparing access arrangements evidence and forms
  • Experience in working with students with special educational needs
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Experience in a senior leadership role within education
