The Opportunity:

As the Head of Sixth Form, you will lead and develop a dynamic and high-achieving community of senior students. This role is central to shaping the academic and pastoral experience of pupils, preparing them for university, employment, and life beyond school. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader committed to academic excellence and holistic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Sixth Form, ensuring it remains a high-performing and aspirational academic community.
  • Provide strong academic and pastoral leadership to support students in achieving outstanding outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of leadership, service, and personal responsibility among students.
  • Inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential both academically and personally.
  • Promote and uphold the values and ethos of a Catholic school.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of a robust and challenging curriculum for senior students.
  • Ensure students are well prepared for university, employment, and life beyond school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a senior leader in education, ideally within a Sixth Form setting.
  • Strong academic background and experience as an outstanding classroom practitioner.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
  • Deep commitment to pastoral care and student wellbeing.
  • Strong understanding of the Catholic ethos and its role in education.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and leading successful Sixth Form programmes.
  • Experience in co-curricular leadership, particularly in sport or music.
  • Experience in school-wide strategic planning and development.
  • Experience in working within a high-achieving, values-driven school community.
