The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Assistant Headteacher to lead the Learning, Teaching & Personal Development department. This is a key role in shaping the educational experience of students and supporting staff to deliver outstanding outcomes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in driving academic and personal growth across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop strategies to improve the quality of feedback and student learning outcomes.
  • Oversee and enhance Behaviour for Learning across the school, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement enrichment opportunities that support student engagement and personal development.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure alignment with the school’s vision and strategic goals.
  • Support and mentor teaching staff to raise student achievement and improve classroom practice.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of initiatives to ensure continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and professional development within the school community.
  • Ensure effective communication with parents, students, and staff to maintain strong partnerships.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education.
  • Strong track record in raising student achievement and improving teaching standards.
  • Excellent classroom practice and ability to model best practice.
  • Experience in leading and developing staff teams.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement processes.
  • Experience in managing large-scale projects or initiatives.
  • Knowledge of technology integration in teaching and learning.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student well-being.
