The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a highly organised and detail-driven Payroll Administrator to support the Finance Team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely payroll services, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process payroll operations in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of staff, including salary, benefits, and deductions.
  • Maintain and update employee records, including personal and financial information.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to resolve payroll-related queries and issues.
  • Monitor and report on payroll compliance, including tax, National Insurance, and statutory requirements.
  • Support the implementation of new payroll systems or processes as required.
  • Prepare and review payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive employee data at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in payroll administration, ideally within the education sector.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing payroll data.
  • Knowledge of payroll software and systems, such as Sage or Paychex.
  • Understanding of UK payroll legislation and tax requirements.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or large organisation.
  • Familiarity with the education sector and its specific payroll needs.
  • Experience with hybrid or flexible working arrangements.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
