The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Science Teacher with TLR Responsibility to join our dedicated department. This role offers the chance to influence curriculum development and raise standards across KS3 and KS4. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of Science education at the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Science lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, using innovative teaching methods.
- Develop and lead curriculum initiatives to enhance student outcomes and engagement.
- Support the school’s commitment to academic excellence by driving continuous improvement in Science teaching.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to departmental planning.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students achieve their full potential.
- Participate in staff development and training opportunities to enhance teaching practice.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and resilience.
- Engage with parents and the wider school community to support student learning and development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Relevant undergraduate degree in Science or a related subject.
- Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 levels.
- Strong subject knowledge and ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and leadership.
- Familiarity with Ofsted standards and best practice in Science education.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support.
- Ability to use technology to enhance teaching and learning.
