The Opportunity:
As a Curriculum Leader for Art and Design Technology, you will lead and inspire a team of teachers across Art and Design disciplines. This role is pivotal in driving academic excellence, raising attainment, and ensuring students are equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed in future pathways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team of Art and Design Technology teachers to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
- Monitor, track, and analyse assessment data to identify areas for improvement and support student progress.
- Develop and implement strategies to raise attainment and achievement across Art and Design Technology.
- Inspire and motivate students through innovative and engaging curriculum delivery.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and inclusive school culture.
- Provide professional development opportunities for staff within the Art and Design Technology department.
- Ensure the curriculum aligns with the school’s vision of excellence, harmony, and justice.
- Manage and maintain state-of-the-art facilities including a media suite, dark room, and kiln.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Art or Design Technology.
- Proven leadership experience within a school or educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development and assessment practices.
- Ability to analyse data and use insights to improve student outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team of teachers.
- Experience with extra-curricular activities in Art or Design Technology.
- Familiarity with a wide range of Art and Design Technology subjects including Fine Art, Graphics, and Product Design.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
