The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Pathway 3, you will lead and support the provision of education for students aged 11 to 16 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This is a pivotal role in shaping the future of a school that is already recognized for its exceptional standards and commitment to inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the provision of education for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities across Pathway 3.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance student outcomes and staff development.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Oversee the management of resources, staff, and budgets to support the needs of students.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that values the well-being of all students.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and statutory requirements.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the school’s educational provision and leadership practices.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities setting.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND policies, practices, and legislation.
  • Experience in managing a team and leading strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A relevant teaching qualification and leadership experience.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior leadership role within a school or educational institution.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment for students with complex needs.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and innovative teaching methods.
  • Experience with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
