The Opportunity:
As an Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Pathway 3, you will lead and support the provision of education for students aged 11 to 16 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This is a pivotal role in shaping the future of a school that is already recognized for its exceptional standards and commitment to inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the provision of education for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities across Pathway 3.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance student outcomes and staff development.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.
- Oversee the management of resources, staff, and budgets to support the needs of students.
- Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that values the well-being of all students.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and statutory requirements.
- Support the continuous improvement of the school’s educational provision and leadership practices.
- Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student progress.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEND policies, practices, and legislation.
- Experience in managing a team and leading strategic initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A relevant teaching qualification and leadership experience.
Preferred
- Experience in a senior leadership role within a school or educational institution.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment for students with complex needs.
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices and innovative teaching methods.
- Experience with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
